Medicare covers COVID-19 vaccine at no cost to you|Medicare
Have you gotten your coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccine yet? According to the CDC, more than 42 million people 65 or older have gotten at least one vaccine dose in the U.S., and more than 36 million people 65 or older are fully vaccinated. Everyone 16 years and older is now eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine.
COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective. After you’ve been fully vaccinated, you can start to do some things that you had to stop doing because of the public health emergency. Also, getting vaccinated is a great way to show your family, friends, and community that you care about them.
Medicare covers the COVID-19 vaccine at no cost to you. Just be sure to bring your red, white, and blue Medicare card when you get your vaccine, so your health care provider or pharmacy can bill Medicare. You’ll need your Medicare card even if you’re enrolled in a Medicare Advantage Plan.
